Many know Maor for his unforgettable dress he designed for Eurovision 2018 winner Netta Barzilai, yet this talented designer’s impressive record started much earlier.
As the grandson of a tailor, Maor started sewing and playing with fabrics from a young age. He was later inspired to become a designer.
In 2003, Maor graduated in fashion and costume design from Israel’s elite institution ‘Shenkar College of Engineering & Design‘ in Tel Aviv, and shortly afterwards opened his own studio to start working as a costume designer in theatre, opera and dance.
In recent years, Maor has won numerous awards for his work and secured a place as one of the leading costume designers in Israel.
In 2014, Maor opened a hat atelier bearing his name, ‘Maor Zabar Hats‘. Each hat is impeccably handmade in his studio.
Thanks to his unexpected, elegant, colourful and humorous designs, in recent years Maor has been travelling the world to reach his fans and teach his unique techniques.
